Fat Burners You Didn't Know About
There are many fat burners that increase your metabolism and help your body use up stored fat. These are healthy foods that are also tasty and fun to eat.
Nuts are Fat Burners
If you are not allergic to nuts, you can enjoy any type of nut or seed that you like. Fall is the time nuts are harvested and your local markets have displays of mixed nuts that include almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, and peanuts. Pistachio nuts in the shell are also healthy.
These nuts have usually been roasted or treated. Crack them and enjoy their flavor. Nuts straight out of the shell have that fine skin layer on them that helps your metabolism. Sunflower and pumpkin seeds in the shell are good, too. Eat nuts slowly and chew thoroughly so the nuts digest well.
You can mix nuts in salads or add them to other foods. Nut butters are also good to spread on whole grain breads or crackers. Enjoy peanut, almond and cashew butters but make sure you buy the types that do not have added sugar.
Going to a football game? Buy a bag of warm peanuts in the shell and forget about the popcorn and hot dogs. The peanuts roasted in the shells are fun to crack and eat even if they are a little messy.
Peppers and spices
Hot chili peppers, ginger root and other spices stimulate the metabolism and burn fat. Garlic does as well. These condiments are used in cooking and they can be part of low calorie, high protein meals. (Introduce them slowly if you have a sensitive stomach.)
Sprinkle chili or curry powder over a baked chicken breast for great flavor. Stir fry vegetables with garlic, chilies and Thai seasonings. Check out our recipes.
Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries are also fat burners. Enjoy them raw for the best results. You can buy frozen berries in the winter that can be thawed and mixed with plain yogurt.
Yogurt and low-fat dairy products also help to burn fat. You avoid the sugar in most popular yogurt brands when you mix fresh or thawed berries with plain low-fat yogurt.
Eggs and Lean Meat
Eggs are almost pure protein. Lean meat and cold water fish such as salmon and cod are high in Omega-3 fatty acids that stimulate the metabolism. Add them along with vegetables to a balanced diet for healthy eating.
